PIÑATAS

Piñatas are very popular in Mexico. All small kids are waiting with excitement in their birthday parties because they know mama is going to celebrate them with a nice colorful piñata.

It is a very common tradition in Mexico to break a piñata in kids birthday parties as well as in the traditional Posadas that are celebrated 15 days before Christmas. These are fill with  candies now a days, but in the ancient times those piñatas were fill with fruits( in my youth I had them that way). for example, oranges, pieces of sugar cane, peanuts, limes, jicamas, small apples, and small toys, etc. .  They are all beautifully hand crafted by the expert Indians in Mexico City.
